What this is.
Cryptonary is an independent guide to cryptocurrency for people in the UK. We cover practical education, crypto ETNs, tax obligations, exchange options, safety and regulatory changes.
The site exists because most crypto information is written for American audiences, by people trying to sell you something, or both. UK investors face specific rules — HMRC reporting, FCA registration requirements, CARF compliance, CGT calculations — that generic crypto sites don't address.
We are not a crypto exchange, broker, or financial adviser. We don't hold your money or recommend specific investments. We explain the rules, compare the options, and let you decide.
How we make money
Cryptonary may earn through clearly labelled partner links, newsletter sponsorship, professional referrals and commissioned research. Commercial relationships cannot buy a ranking, a positive conclusion or the removal of risk.

Our methodology
Exchange comparisons are based on real GBP deposits and live trades. FCA registration is verified via the Financial Services Register. Fees are checked quarterly. Tax information references HMRC guidance and legislation directly.
Every article includes a “Last reviewed” date. If information changes, we update the article and note the change.
